New demos
Its great to be back out in France working on new material. The sun is shining, the air is clear and the political mire of the Tories is far away...
Today, I'm just a one-man outfit feeling his way forward. I'm re-inventing myself in the vein of electro/alternative music, like Air, Zero 7 or Urban Myth Club, working with producer James Sanger. I'll be out here for the next few weeks putting some new demos together, by way of ammunition in my battle to build a lasting collaboration.
After many months of advertising on-line, its time to face the fact that no-body perfect has stepped, or could possibly ever step, into the spotlight; and I must now get used to the idea that I am starting a collaboration that must fit the strengths of a new partnership, rather than finding a session singer to round-off my old song ideas.
In hindsight, I realise that spending hundreds of hours building my own web portal, setting up a company and generally trying to do too much by myself, have culminated in a frustrating limbo in creativity, and have yet to bear fruit. This website, while earning me thousands of vistiors a month and a surge of singers putting their names forward, is starting to taper around the edges and needs an over-haul.
But most importantly of all, I reckon its time to cast-off old convictions and try something new. This summer, I'll be recording and developing new material in London as well as France, looking to get something together by the end of the summer.
