First Rehearsal
Today was the first time the gang from Burning Desire got together in a room and worked on the music, ahead of the show on the 14th October. Featuring whistles, flutes, bagpipes, banjos, mandolins, percussion, bell-trees, guitars, double-bass, violins, accordions, pianos and synthesizers, the living room was truly filled-up. We focussed on the first of two sets to be performed at Passing Clouds, as part of the music to the Celt-Rock extravanganza 'Wildfire'. I made a couple of rough live recordings which I'll listen to this week and if anything came out I'll post it up here...
Already I can tell its going to be a different kind of gig. With unusual time-signatures (e.g. not 4-4 rock+roll!) and very individual tracks there is a very real live element to this performance, which is part improvisation; a sort of percieved feeling in the vein of jazz.
There was even time for a bit of dressing-up and a photoshoot to help promote the show- photos when I get hold of them... Photo here
