Slowly catching up with events, now for what happened with Burning Desire this time last month!

The first adventure for Alison Jones and her bunch of merry musicans had been postponed, following an injury to her bowing arm, but she recovered well before we had forgot all of the chords and we piled into Dalston's premier music squat, the Passing Clouds. Squeezing our seven-piece onto the stage, we begin a quick soundcheck, hampered by a couple of technical issues that somewhat baffle our Portugeuse sound engineer.

Unfortunately the Burning Desire gig planned for the 14th October has been postponed, possibly until around early December. More info on the follow-up when I get it.

So what happened? Our industrious band leader Alison Jones hadn't put a foot wrong in trying to organise the show, until she slipped whilst on the way home in trendy Walthamstow village and fractured her bowing arm. Today was the first time the gang from Burning Desire got together in a room and worked on the music, ahead of the show on the 14th October. Featuring whistles, flutes, bagpipes, banjos, mandolins, percussion, bell-trees, guitars, double-bass, violins, accordions, pianos and synthesizers, the living room was truly filled-up. We focussed on the first of two sets to be performed at Passing Clouds, as part of the music to the Celt-Rock extravanganza 'Wildfire'. I made a couple of rough live recordings which I'll listen to this week and if anything came out I'll post it up here...
